In my last article I had written about Ardra Parvesh Chart which is a main tool in the hands of astrologers to predict about monsoon season. In this short article I am giving important points about rain &weather prediction for use of the readers.
1.Poorvashadha,Uttarashasha,Poorvabhadra,Uttarabhadra and Rohini nakshatra are good for rain. The other planets which are good for holding and delivery of rains are Satabhisha, Magha, Ashlesha, Ardra and Swati.
2.Entry of Moon in Rohini in ashadha krishna pakasha is used for short range prediction.
3.According to Shri Kanshi Nath-an ancient Medini astrologer, Saturn in Capricorn and Aquarius may give widespread rainfall.
4.Sun ahead of Mars in the rainy season in the month of Asadha may give heavy rainfall. Mars ahead of the Sun may however, give scanty rainfall. Mars ahead of the Sun in rainy season give scanty rainfall.
5.When Sun is in mrigshira nakshtra, which is in the end of May, South West monsoon strikes Kerala(Rohini Pravesh is used for rains in south india);when Sun enters Ardra, monsoon moves towards the north of india. When Sun enters Kanya Rashi, monsoon prepares to withdraw from north India. When Sun enters Hasta, it is time to rain in Bihar; this is popularly called,”Hathiya Rain”. When Sun enters Chitra, it causes occasional rains, South West rains have also withdrawn by this time. Monsoon season is from Rahu nakshatra’Ardra’ to Rahu nakshatra ‘Swati’..
6.If Neem tree flowers timely i.e. in April-May, there will be rain.
7.In Himachal Pradesh there are ‘Nagphana’ plants, if that dries in June, there will be no rains.
8.It is only sometimes that it rains when Sun is in Swati nakshatra. The rain of this nakshatra is very useful for rabi crops of wheat, gram, sarson etc.
9.The rising of Mars causes hailstorms in northern India. There will also be rains in northern India.
10.Sun and Mars become intense dry when they are together and then, then they cause no rains.
11..Famines are indicated when Jupiter and Saturn together transit end of signs Aries and Scorpio or middle of Taurus and Leo. When Jupiter and Saturn together transit any other sign then there are deaths by diseases.
12.There will be rain if strong Moon is in a rashi whose lord is aspecting it.
13.If Mercury and Venus, Mercury and Jupiter and Venus and Jupiter are together in a Rashi there is cloud formation. In favourable rashi and favouable aspects there will be rain. Malefic aspects cause strong wind and less rain.
14.Varahamihira says that if Moon in conjunction with Rohini is not visible as result of sky being overcast ,great danger from disease is imminent but earth will be blessed with plenty of water and bumper crops.
15.If at the time of arrival of the cattle in the evening, there would be a bull or a black animal such as goat in front, there would be copious rain in the year; if black and white, rains would be moderate, if white there would be no rains at all.
16.Moon in 5,7,9 from Saturn causes rain.
17.Moon in Cancer, Capricorn and Pisces is good for rains.
18.When Sun is in between Venus and Mercury there is a break in the sense that for some days there is dry spell.
19.If Jupiter and Mars are within 30 degrees of each other it prevents rains.
20.Mars in Swati, Purva Ashadha, Uttar Ashadha, Ardra, Rohini, Uttar phalguni nakshatra is not conducive to rain.
21.The planets transiting in Krittika, Vishakha, Anuradha and Bharani nakshatras bring violent storms and cyclones. This is specially true if one more planet is transiting in these nakshatras.
22.Planets in Punarvasu, U.Phaguni, Uttarashadha, Poorvabhadra, Pushya, P.Phalguni, Abhjit, Satabhisha, Magha, Sravan, Dhanishtha bring much rain.
23.Mercury alone in rainy season is capable of giving rain while changing rashi, becoming retrograde or direct or while rising or setting.
24. When there is concentration of planets in one rashi , the weather begins to fluctuate and when Moon joins them fluctuation becomes clear.
25. When Mars transits from one rashi to another rashi then within two days, there is perceptible change in weather and in the rainy season there is a good rainfall.
26. Similarly when a major planet changes a rashi, it causes a very noticeable change in weather.
27. When planets retrograde and on the day become direct there is change in temperature, humidity and what the meteorologists say as disturbances. But Venus alone can not do it unless other planets help.
28. There will be rain if strong Moon is in a rashi whose lord is aspecting it.
29. Jupiter ahead of Sun and Venus causes extreme cold.
30.When Sun is in between Venus and Mercury there is a break and dry spell for some days.
31.Conjunction of Sun with Saturn causes cold wave in upper India.
