The appendix is a finger-like structure located near the junction of the large and small intestines. Sometimes, food gets trapped inside it, leading to an infection known as appendicitis. It serves no functional purpose in human beings. Inflammation of the appendix results in appendicitis. The following astrological combinations can cause appendicitis:-
1. An adverse influence of Rahu, Ketu, Mars, the Sun, or Saturn on Venus causes appendicitis. This negative influence is a prerequisite for the condition for development of appendicitis
2. An association of the Sun or Mars with the signs of Virgo, Gemini, or Vrisha keeps the disease in a latent form.
3. There must be an influence of Rahu or Mars on the 6th house, the lord of the 6th house or the 8th house or the lord of the 8th house. The Moon must also be weak and afflicted. However according to Dr. S.S. Chatterjee, the Moon plays no role in this disease.
4. If Mars or Ketu aspects the 6th house or its lord and Mars is both strong and afflicted in the birth chart there are chances of operation. The sign of Virgo must also be afflicted by Mars or Ketu. There should not be any malefic in the sixth house from Mars or Ketu.
5. The 5th or 6th house is hemmed in between malefic planets.
6. The Sun is afflicted by Rahu or Mars in the sign of Leo, while the Moon is afflicted in the sign of Virgo.
7. According to Shri K.N. Rao, appendicitis is generally characterised by the affliction of Vrisha, Mithuna and Venus.
Let us understand appendicitis through examples:-
Saturn is in lagna. It has ninth aspect of Rahu who is with eighth lord Moon. Lagna lord is in sixth house. Fifth lord Mars is in second house with badhkesh Mercury. It is aspected by lagna lord Jupiter. Fifth lord Mars is aspecting Rahu-Moon combination in fifth house and eighth house also. Sun is in inimical house Aquarius. It is associated with 6th cum 11th lord Venus .It is aspected by Saturn and Ketu. Two things are there in this chart:-
(i) Venus, fifth house and sixth house are afflicted .Hence appendicitis is there.
(ii) Sixth lord is aspected by Ketu and Mars is both strong and afflicted in the birth chart. Hence necessity of operation is there.
The native underwent operation for removal of inflamed appendix in May 1968 during vimshottari dasa of Mars-Rahu(13-01-68 to 30-01-1969).
Example-2:-
Venus is with 12th lord Saturn,6th lord Sun and 7th lord Mercury. It is aspected by retrograde Jupiter. Fifth house is occupied by Ketu and aspected by Rahu, Mars and Saturn. Sixth house is aspected by Mars who is with Rahu. Mars is strong and afflicted in birth chart. Hence this chart indicates appendicitis and operation both.He underwent surgery at the tender age of about twelve in May 1983 in Venus-Ketu dasa(14-11-1982 to 14-01-1984).
Example-3:-
The native was subjected to surgical treatment of acute appendicitis on 29 April 1993 in dasa of Moon-Ketu(19-12-1992 to 20-07-1993).Venus is in eighth house with sixth cum eleventh lord Mercury and is retrograde. It has ninth aspect of Ketu. Hence Venus is afflicted. Fifth house is not afflicted though it is aspected by twelfth lord Jupiter. Sixth house is afflicted. It is occupied by Mars and in Rahu-Ketu axis. Hence combination for appendicitis as well as for surgery are there.
Example 4-:-
Venus is aspected by JupR. JupR is with MarsR and in Rahu-Ketu axis. Hence Venus is afflicted. Venus is fifth lord in seventh house. Fifth lord is, thus, afflicted. Sixth lord MarsR is with JupiterR and in Rahu-Ketu axis also. Hence sixth lord is also afflicted. It indicates appendicitis.
MarsR is aspecting sixth house and is with Ketu. Hence opertaion is also indicated.Actually native is suffering from various health problems including appendicitis. Date of surgery for appendicitis is not available to us.
Example -5
Venus is in inimical sign and also with a inimical planet Venus. Moreover it is hemmed in between malefics. Hence it is afflicted. Fifth house is aspected by Mars. Sixth house is occupied by Ketu and aspected by Mars. Hence appendicitis and operation, both are indicated. The native suffered from appendicitis and had also an operation.
The above examples show that affliction to Venus and also to fifth house and sixth house show appendicitis. In addition if Mars or Ketu aspects the 6th house or its lord and Mars is both strong and afflicted in the birth chart there are chances of operation.
Following remedial measures help in treatment and cure of appendicitis:-
(1). Feed everyday to a white cow. Feeding to the white cow pleases Venus and helps in prevention and treatment of appendicitis. Shukra stotram can also be recited to please Venus.
(2) Recitation of Aditya Hriday Stotram Daily. It pleases the Sun-an arogya karka planet. Moreover Sun may combust Venus. Hence its’ propitiation is necessary.
Recitation of Shukra stotram and Aditya Hriday Stotram daily is sufficient to prevent/ treat appendicitis.
